On June 25, T R I M and 14 other organizations including Woman’s March and The Movement for Black Lives partnered with Dream Defenders, a South Florida non-profit, to launch a coast-to-coast night of solidarity and dialogue by sharing a place at the dinner table. By the start of the evening, more than 11,000 participants had committed to being a part of one of 375 hosted dinners, bringing communities together for a meal with meaningful discussion. The Day of Dinners project empowered hosts to hold meals across all 50 states and countries beyond, including Thailand, Mexico and Barcelona.

Dream Defenders created Day of Dinners out of the belief that “creating a better world can start if we open our doors to one another, listen to each other’s stories, and gather to break bread rather than build walls.”

One of our very own product developers, Steve Gilliam, shares a passion for using technology to make an impact on the world. Steve presented the opportunity for T R I M to step in as the technology partner, building a product that could handle the signup and coordinating process that paired hosts with attendees based on their respective locations.

“What I learned is that we, as normal citizens, hold the power. We have the power to fight about injustice and it all starts with a conversation with people that are different. When we connect we are strong. The powers that be know this so they promote fear and division.”

By separating business logic and user experience, the startup is in a position to scale, as company founders are developing new features while launching the startup this September in New York City and South Florida.

Golfito Marina Village will be the first Superyacht ready facility in the Southern Costa Rica region. The luxury resort and marina is currently under construction; it will be the only drop-off and pick-up zone for yacht transport ships on the West Coast of Central and South America. Golfito’s yachting, world-class sport-fishing, and ecotourism is the formula for a successful luxury travel destination.

Trim Agency released an interim look at renderings and plans for the destination’s website and marketing portal. Working closely with famed Architect and Developer, Noam Schwartz, Trim was able to bring to life a project in it’s physical infancy. Trim’s team of strategists is working to turn the beta release into an informational hub and sales tool as development on the Golfito Marina Village property continues.

No rest for the Product Team, as the full-version web experience begins in August. Scheduling creative, development, and production around the shifting needs of a luxury resort under construction is what makes working closely with our clients ever important. If we are serious about sharing what we do, bettering our community, and building a movement in Fort Lauderdale, then we needed to be contributing to that community.

General Provision is proud to announce the addition of Broward County’s first independent programming academy to their FATvillage headquarters this coming April. General Provision has become the new home of Wyncode FATvillage, as the Miami-based accelerated learning program and development bootcamp expands to Broward County.

 

Wyncode, which began it’s first academy at The LAB in the Miami Arts District of Wynwood, strategically partners with coworking spaces to entrench their students in a startup environment as they learn how to build web applications.

“Computer programming is in high demand in South Florida and we believe that someone who is willing to work hard to change their life and professional direction can get a well-paying job provided they receive the right education”, Wyncode Academy’s co-founder Johanna Mikkola said. “We are thrilled to partner with Trim Agency to bring our program to Ft. Lauderdale, where we have found the perfect venue in General Provision”

The program is full-time, intensive, nine week bootcamp that teaches HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Ruby on Rails. Graduates leave the program ready to join companies as junior web developers and have been hired in tech jobs at a 92% placement rate. Wyncoders have also gone on to start their own companies, such as visual menu app meme.menu and innovative coupon aggregator CouponMate.

Trim Agency’s collaborative work space, branded General Provision, which outfits creative professionals with a vehicle for community, craft, and commerce, was a natural fit for Wyncode. The program is described as the “Art of Code.” Students will have 24 hour access to our facility and it’s amenities as they learn by doing, culminating in a pitch day where they will present their own web apps. Trim Agency will provide test-projects and a first hand look of the inner-workings of a software consultancy.

We will be empowering new developers to build the next great thing; whether it’s for themselves, for Trim Agency, or for another great company. And we think that is really meaningful.
